LAKE MANYARA FOR 2
Lake Manyara Day trip
Lake Manyara National Park is one of the oldest and most popular bird sanctuaries in East Africa. The park has a large variety of habitats, making it possible to support a wealth of wildlife in its small area. The most famous spectacle in the park is the tree-climbing lions, which are occasionally seen along branches of acacia trees. Other animals found in the park include buffalo, elephants, leopards, baboons, impala, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, ostrich and hippos. For bird watchers this is a paradise as the Park contains over 400 bird species. Common water birds to be seen here are pelicans, spoonbills, Egyptian geese, hammerkops and the migratory flamingoes, which arrive in hundreds of thousands creating one of Africa’s great natural sights over the soda lake.
We will pick you up from your location (within Arusha or agreed distance from Tarangire). If you are staying at our lodge in Manyara, you will be provided a good breakfast and will collect a lunchbox for the trip ahead. We aim to get you into the gates by 9-10 am, meaning you will get an excellent full day of game viewing. Lunch will be at the viewpoint at 1:00 pm. Here you will be able to relax over the view of the lake and the wildlife. We aim to leave the park at about 5:00 pm to return home.

By TANAPA rules we need to pay for access to the parks before we enter. We do ask for payment at least 72h before travel. If payment is recieved for the trip less than 72h before the trip is planned, we will request that you pay for the gate entrance directly at the park with your own visa card. This is due to legislation where only prepayment for entry to all tanzanian national parks. It takes us about 48h to arrange pre-payment at the local park offices.
